Curtis is the debut solo album from a man who by the time it was released in 1970, was already a bit of a legend, having written for/produced/anchored the Impressions and collaborated extensively with @iceman Jerry Butler. It's a work of genius, as many things were with Mr. Mayfield, and set off an inferno of reverential, trailblazing soul that would absolutely remake the foundations of the genre.
